Stephen Marra and Bill Hedge interview the San Francisco Bay-Area jazz group TRIO with pianist, composer and arranger Denny Berthiaume, bassist Mickey McPhillips, and drummer Rob Gibson.

Simply named TRIO, these three musicians, through their complex and exacting music, expand the definition of what is considered 'doable' by a jazz ensemble made up of only three players. Collectively, they have performed with such jazz notables as Rosemary Clooney, Bud Shank, Carl Saunders and Pete Christlieb to name just a few. And two of TRIO's members helped form the seventies jazz group SOLAR PLEXSUS.
